We have been talking about pilgrims and indians (native amerians) and how their friendship helped the pilgrims survive their first years in America. We also discussed things we are thankful for. We created a huge Thankful Turkey for our bulletin board with our heartfelt thanks.
Speaking of heartfelt thanks, I give thanks to those of you who are volunteering in some way to assist with our International Feast tomorrow! We still could use more help with set up/clean up, more food dishes to share, as well as festive plates for the feast.
A few more notes...there will be no homework this week, but I will be sending home some booklets that you can use daily with your child to practice their reading. I'll also send home a fun cut-and-play pilgrim activity for entertainment. Please continue working on sight words, letter sounds, and making/writing/reading three-letter-words with the short /a/ sound (like cat, ham, rat, etc.)
p.s. --You all did a phenomenal job on the Tom Turkey Family Projects. Our Tom Turkey bulletin board is totally awesome!!!!! I'll be posting pics tomorrow, so stay tuned!
Peace and thanksgiving,
