Have a tremendously successful week!
Do you remember back in the fall when I asked families to collect lids and bottle caps? Well, our class has put them to good use this month. As part of our unit on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle , we reused those lids to create gnat traps! We had a pesky gnat infestation in some of our classroom plants, and wanted to get rid of them in a green and eco-friendly way. So we filled the lids with vinegar and added a squirt of hand soap in order to attract and kill the gnats. Here is the before... And after... The vinegar-and-soap solution really worked! Now we are REUSING the gnat traps for scientific investigations in our science center. Come back soon for the next blog post, where you will see how the kiddies are progressing with their recycled box creations.
Have a tremendously successful week!
