You probably have a magnet or two at your home, maybe stuck to the front of the refrigerator. Use the magnets to explore their properties, and to try the things you see in the video. Your child can report back to the class what he learned!
We are also exploring the similarities and differences between the sight words me and my. Kindergartners often confuse these two words. So I created a short video that will help them practice. Check out the videos below!
Watch the kindergartners defeat Mr. X-Man with the power of X!!!!!
Beginning readers often mix up "me" and "my". This video will help them figure it out.
Finally, our Living Things science unit is just around the corner, and I want to try growing seeds in a whole new way this year. I am across this awesome idea on Pinterest for a Self-Watering Planter activity. Mrs. Cipolla's kindergarten class wiell be doing it as well. In order to make this happen, we need your help! Please start collecting one or two liter soda bottles (they must be clean, dry and empty please) and send them in to school with your child, along with any extras you may come across. We want each child to have their very own planter.
What are we planting, you ask? Well, it's a surprise...but it will be something edible (hey, that's a good vocabulary word to teach your child this week).
